Clocks have changed for winter; Samhain, Halloween and All Souls Day last weekend marked the equidistant point between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice; gun shots signify hunting season; dark evenings are seducing us inward to hibernate yet busy days continue and ever changing times keep bringing us new tests to dig deep to overcome.

 I feel very grateful being in a tier 2 location which means classes and clinics can continue, approved by the Scottish Government and my professional body the Sports Massage Association, UK 

Classes feel positive and strong thanks to the focus and commitment of all the super people taking part!!

I am a self confessed sufferer of SAD in winter months and believe in the importance of simple ongoing self-care strategies integrated into lifestyle, NOT burning our energy stores down to empty and NOT waiting until we feel exhausted, run down, injured, full of flu, forgetfulness and bad mood to think about healing.

What realistic steps can we take now to protect health, well-being, immunity and energy levels to enjoy life and our full potential?!

At last I was able to visit the University of St Andrews to meet my directors, feel the wild 50 mph North Sea winds and smell the salty sea air on a beach run and sea plunge! feel student vibes, walk on ancient streets and set plans in motion for teaching modules in Human Biology and Physiology in semester 2 from January 2021.

COVID 19 PROTOCOL FOR YOGA CLASSES WITH THERAPY BY ALICE MOONEY

  • Booking, payment and the Pre Yoga Client Consent & Health Screening Form are all completed online via www.alicemooneytherapy.com and in advance of class to eliminate use of paper, pens and cash and so you can fully relax on arrival.  If you need help with any of the above-mentioned steps online please call Alice 07388216620 who is happy to help you.
  • Practice best hygiene en route to class and minimise risk of infection by washing/sterilising hands before, during (if needed) and after your journey and by wearing a face mask up until the point where you are standing on your own mat with adequate distance between yourself and any other student
  • Enter venues through the front door 
  • Sanitise hands immediately upon arrival
  • Please bring own yoga mat and place mat on a floor marking that are measured 2m apart – option to remove face masks while on mat during class

DO NOT attend class if you:

  •        feel in any way unwell, or if you have had contact with anyone who is unwell with symptoms of cough, cold, flu, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell
  •        have travelled internationally within the last 14 days
  •        have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the Coronavirus/COVID-19
  •        have been diagnosed with Coronavirus/Covid-19

 

  • No hands-on assists or physical adjustments will be given by the teacher at this time
  • No props such as yoga blocks, straps, bolsters, eye pillows are available at this time
  • Arrive wearing clothes you will do yoga class in with easy to remove outer layers and shoes. The conservatory will be well ventilated with fresh air so you may need a long sleeve vest/warm layer
  • Please bring your own warm scarf/blanket/socks for savasanah (relaxation)
  • Keep an appropriate distance between yourself and fellow students at all times
  • If you leave your mat during class to use the toilet, please continue to wash and sanitise hands
  • Avoid gathering before and after class
  • Spaces are limited to 6 people – if you cannot attend / need to cancel please inform Alice 07388216620 (whatsapp) | email: therapybyalicemooney@gmail.com no less than 24 hours before class start time so your space can be offered to someone on the wait list.
